Ovation Gala
Four annual identities and one evolving event experience for the Chamber's celebration of Asian Pacific American culture, business and community.
Ovation is the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce's annual celebration of Asian Pacific American heritage and accomplishment. The gala brings together business leaders, community organizations, artists and honorees for the GAACC Business Awards.
Each edition begins with a new theme. Ovation X looked ahead in 2022. Awaken the Dragon marked 2024. Illuminate the Night shaped 2025. Legacy & Lights carries the gala into 2026. The identity changes each year while the event continues to feel like one recognizable institution.
01 · The challenge
The Chamber's biggest night needs a fresh reason to return every year. Each theme has to carry a full campaign, hold together a ballroom-scale production and give sponsors, honorees and guests a shared sense of occasion.
02 · My role
Creative and digital lead for the gala. I develop each annual theme and identity, design the campaign and event materials, build the stage graphics and presentation loops, and design and manage ovationgala.org.

04 · The work
A new chapter every year
The gala changes character with each edition. These campaigns move from the dragon imagery of 2024 through the deep blue and gold of 2025 to the illuminated Legacy & Lights system for 2026.
2024 · Awaken the Dragon
A circular dragon mark, a red and gold palette and a flexible campaign system built for a year of energy and renewal.
2026 · Legacy & Lights
A luminous script mark and a jewel-like emblem connect the gala's established legacy with the people carrying it forward.
The event website
I design and manage ovationgala.org as the public home for each year's theme, ticket and sponsorship information, business awards and event details.
Stage motion
The identity continues across the room on welcome screens and main-stage presentation loops. These pieces span Ovation X in 2022, Awaken the Dragon in 2024 and Illuminate the Night in 2025.
The gala in the room
The GAACC Business Awards sit at the center of Ovation. The visual system has to frame the honorees with clarity and ceremony while supporting the larger night around them.
